The community of Rainworth is coming together for a fantastic Summer fun day on Saturday July 12th from 11am to 4pm at the village hall.

This is the fifth year an event has been held, but this time organisers have decided to invite all the groups within Rainworth to join them for the day.

There will be a bouncy castle, face painting, a licensed bar, splat the rat and table hoopla games, competitions in darts and guessing the weight of the cake, as well as stocks and sponges, and clowning duo the amazing Rapide Brothers will be making an appearance.

Organiser Clare Brown said: ““Our village is small and we have made a big effort to bring the community together and make a great day for all the family.

“This has not been done before and the following groups are all working together: The Royal British Legion, Rainworth Cadets, Rainworth & Blidworth W.I., Miners Welfare, Little Nippers, Rainworth Rangers Football Club, Detached Youth Centre, Rainworth Skate Park, Sam’s Workplace, Jerry Green Rescue, Simon & St Judes Methodist Church, Sherwood West Children’s centre and Rainbows.

“Lakeview, Python Hill and Heathlands primary schools will part in a competition run by the village hall to design a hand. A winner from each school will be revealed on the day by the chairman of the British Legion.”
