Rainworth charity show pulls in £800 for local cause

A charity fashion show helped raise more than £800 for a local cause.

Held at Rainworth Miners Welfare, and in conjunction with Red Frog Fashions, it pulled in the pounds for the Rainworth Detached Youth Club.

It provides a much-needed youth club, play schemes over the school holidays, detached youth work as well as getting involved in community events.

The project, which is an independent charity, has been running since 1994 and was established by residents as a result of local concern about the changing needs of young people following the closure of the collieries.

Tickets for the show were sold at £5 each and there was also a raffle, tombola and cake stalls.
