Pukka prize for chippy

Tony Yerolemou and his happy friers at Tony’s Chippy are celebrating after scooping the award for the best fish and chip shop in the UK for the month of June by Pukka Pies.

The family-run business on Milton Street in Mansfield was crowned winner, after entering a monthly competition to search for the best fish and chip takeaways across the UK.

The shop, which is run by Tony, his wife Scevy and daughter Eleni, started life in 2007.

And joining the upper crust of the nations eateries has certainly given the friers a great reason to celebrate.

High frying Tony said: “We are really pleased to have been awarded with Pukka Pies’ accolade of the best fish and chip shop for June.

“We couldn’t be happier to be recognised for our service and standards.”

Every month, Pukka Pies judges and awards one fish and chip shop across the country that stocks its products and gives them the oppor-tuna-ty- to be named as the best in that month.

Sally Voss, Brand Manager at Pukka Pies, said: “We want to make the eating experience of our pies as satisfying as it can be and celebrate the best that there is.

“The team at Tony’s Chippy does a fantastic job and we’re really pleased they’ve come up top.”

Now sales should chicken and mushroom at the chippy at 37 Milton Street, Mansfield.
