At a meeting of Warsop Parish Council on Monday Councillor Andy Wetton described the situation with the school as ‘complicated and difficult’.

He said: ”The school is not keen to sign an agreement with the county council that which allows access to the public because they would be responsible

“Although the school is quite happy for the facilities to be used by the community, it is the actual lease of the building that is the problem.

“We are trying to work to get the facilities from the school open to the public.

“The most frustrating one for me is the MUGA pitch.

“It is a perfectly usable asset for Warsop which would be in peak demand at the moment for all the local sports clubs but unfortunately due to the access arrangements with the school it can’t be used.

“It is frustrating that local football teams cant train on the surface there.”
