Pub open day to help locals lose weight

An open day is being held at a Mansfield pub to help people find out about weight loss and healthy living.

Organised by WeightWatchers, people will be able to have a free weigh in and BMI check, and get tips on beauty and style, and exercise, from local retailers and keep fit experts.

The event takes place at The Rufford, on Chesterfield Road South, on Saturday (4th January) between 11am and 3pm.

Mansfield Paralympian Charlotte Henshaw will be at the event, which also marks the news that the first floor of The Rufford is now being used as a WeightWatchers centre for the Mansfield area.

And a representative from The John Eastwood Hospice will be there to receive a cheque for £550 that has been collected as a result of a charity morning held at previous WeightWatchers meetings held at The Rufford.

WeightWatchers leader Wray Annable, said: “With Christmas and New Year being a time of excess and not thinking too much about keeping fit, this is an ideal opportunity for people to get their healthy lifestyle off to a flying start.

“The classes in Mansfield are proving to be extremely popular and we have had a number of great success stories. Leaders and successful participants will be on hand during the open day to offer guidance.”
