Pub fun day raises cash for Fountaindale School

Pub goers dug deep at a recent charity fun day and helped to raise more than £1,000 for a local school.

Elaine and Terry Pownall, landlady and landlord of the Sir John Cockle in Mansfield, and Andy Collins, of Andy and Dan Venus Sound, organised the event held at the pub on Sutton Road.

Stalls, children’s activities, an auction and a raffle helped to raise £1,125 for Fountaindale Special School.

The school, in Mansfield, is for children with complex physical, medical and sensory needs. The money will go towards developing an outdoor sensory environment at the recently rebuilt school.
