Property is in demand according to survey

Demand for properties in the East Midlands continued to increase, as the number of properties coming onto the market failed to pick up pace, according to new research.

The RICS UK Residential Market Survey, February 2016 showed that in the midst of a flurry of sales from the buy-to-let sector completing, prior to the April 2016 changes, 24 per cent of respondents reported a continued growth in demand in the East Midlands housing market during February, a trend which dates back to October 2015.

Prices in the region continue to grow above the reported national average for the second consecutive month. A net balance of 57 per cent of respondents reported a price increase over the past three months compared to the national net balance of 50 per cent.
