Professional perfection at Ragdale Hall

Set in the Leicestershire countryside near Melton Mowbray, it proudly stands in an isolated spot allowing for peace and tranquility but is easily accessible from major road networks.

From the moment we arrived to our reluctant departure we were made to feel like special guests.

Never have I been anywhere, whether hotel or spa, at home or abroad, and been so impressed with the level of service from each member of staff we were served by.

From the porters to receptionists, waiting staff to therapists, retail assistants to fitness instructors they all shared the same objective-to meet our needs in a courteous, friendly and efficient manner.

The team, which amounts to in excess of 470 staff, clearly enjoy their roles within Ragdale which is reflected in their attitude and effectiveness.

At no point during our two day stay did we meet an employee who wasn’t genuinely welcoming and intent on ensuring our stay was enjoyable.

But it’s not just the staff that makes Ragdale but the facilities and overall environment that surpasses all others I have visited.

I guess the fact that it has been open for 40 years means they have the experience, knowledge and commitment to know what they are doing.

But Ragdale hasn’t become complacent with its reputation or its facilities.

The independently owned business continues to reinvest in the property, updating facilities and expanding what is on offer to stay at the top of its game.

As visitors move around the hall they experience a mixture of traditional and contemporary furnishings that you would imagine wouldn’t work but it does.

From wood paneling to glass and chrome it seems a contradictory concept but it’s divine.

The most impressive space is of course the spa which is fabulously spacious and boasts a 25m swimming pool plus whirlpool spas, massage jets outdoor pool area and separate exercise pool.

There are also 11 thermal spa spaces including a cave-like candle pool I’ve not seen anywhere else.

And of course there are exercise studios and a fitness gym if you feel the need to earn the wonderful meals inclusive with the breaks.

I was impressed with the top quality spin bikes on offer but also with the towels placed on each bike before the class started for each participant’s convenience and the offer by the instructor to refill water bottles as required.

I don’t get this treatment down my local gym that’s for sure. Maybe if I did I might be a more frequent visitor!

My friend and I both experienced a variety of treatments during our stay including a facial, full body massage and mini-manicure and both of us was impressed with their delivery that left us feeling stress free, relaxed and pampered like never before.

Ragdale is without doubt an idyllic cocoon that takes you away from the fast-paced lifestyle that many of us try and maintain.

Whenever there comes a time when you need to press pause on the daily grind, book a break and it will without doubt deliver a Ragdale rejuvenation.
