A PRIVATE road has been resurfaced by the county council to improve access for cyclists. The section of King’s Mill Lane, near King’s Mill Reservoir, which runs between Millersdale Avenue and the A38, has been marked with a no entry sign for vehicles and a cycle lane added.

A spokesman from Nottinghamshire County Council said the work has been done as part of its Local Improvement Scheme (LIS), but the road remains private.

Cyclists can access the A38 from King’s Mill Lane but vehicles heading away from the reservoir must turn right and use Millersdale Avenue.

The spokesman added how residents living in King’s Mill Lane have the legal right to put up no entry signs.
