While walking on a beach in Cornwall an SD card was found on the sand and thanks to the power of social media has been returned to a family in Middlesex.

Angie Tolley, 31, of Alfreton Road, appealed to people on Facebook to share her post to try and find the owner of the pictures that contained Caesarean shots and photos of mum and her new baby.

The card was found by Angie’s dad when he was holidaying in Fowey in Cornwall in September and he brought it back with him.

Angie said: “I was not expecting to have any luck but thousands of people across the country shared my post - which showed the dad Keiran in his scrubs waiting to go into theatre - was brilliant and proves how powerful and good the Internet can be,”

One of the messages Angie received came from a person who recognised the curtains and fan in the hospital and another who went to school with the man.

“I contacted him and he couldn’t believe it he thought he would never see those pictures again.”

While on the beach he had let his son take some pictures and it was only when they left the beach they realised the camera was not with them but on returning it had gone.

Angie checked out the pictures to confirm she had found the right man and will be sending it on to him.

“It’s all a bit CSI that someone recognised the curtains but I am so glad they did.

“I am mum and know how priceless pictures of my children are.”
The SV2 worker, which is a charity that supports victims of sexual violence, is still stunned that in just under 48 hours people cared enough to help find the family.

She added: “You always see stuff being shared and always wonder what happens and whether people ever find their lost items so it is really great that this story has a happy ending,

“Thank you to everyone who got involved and shared my post, we have made one family very happy now.”
