Pre-schoolers get into World Cup fun

England might be out of the 2014 World Cup tournament but youngsters at a Hucknall playgroup still found time to enjoy the football fun.

Hucknall Pre-school Playgroup, which is based at Watnall Road Baptist Church, got into the spirit of the football celebrations by holding an International World Cup Day.

The multi-cultural youngsters dressed up wearing colours from around the world, sporting a variety of team strips.

“We have a number of children from different countries so it also gave us a chance to explore the differences in cultures and compare other countries to England,” said committee member, Natalie Needham. “The theme gave youngsters the opportunity to learn about diversity and the geography of different places.”

Running for over 40 years, the Pre-school Playgroup is a well established and popular facility in the town.
