After numerous negative reports by the care regulators, Nottingham County Council responded by stopping any funding of new residents.

But the ban has recently been lifted and the now the future looks bright for residents, staff and owners.

“It was a big hurdle to get the authority ban lifted but we succeeded within five weeks of taking over the home,” said Sonia Bhandal, who runs 1st Care Uk with her husband Baggy who now own the home as well as two homes in Lincoln.

“Our challenge now is to attract new residents to bring the home to be full and happy for everyone.”

“The residents and staff were facing an uncertain future but now everybody is reassured and the atmosphere is very different.
