Portland College move closer to £2m charity target with help from Sainsbury’s, Pure Gym and Four Seasons shopping centre

Fundraisers have been out in force as they battle to push Portland College closer to their mammoth £2m charity target.

The Nottingham Road college hopes to raise the whopping total to develop a brand new sports centre to give disabled groups around Mansfield and Ashfield and elite level competitors the best possible facilities.

And during the past couple of weeks more than £1,000 has been raised after fundraisers packed shoppers’ bags in Sainsbury’s, before spending time in Mansfield’s Four Seasons shopping centre.

The campaign has also received support from Pure Gym who were on hand to raise vital cash through a spin-a-thon as part of their open weekend on 9th and 10th May.

Andrea Hudson, who is helping to spearhead the fundraising drive, paid tribute to everyone who had been involved.

She said” “We would like to thank Sainsbury’s, Pure Gym and the Four Seasons Shopping Centre for supporting our fundraising. The events have been fantastic for generating awareness of the College and raising much needed funds.

“The Mansfield community have been brilliant and it has been a pleasure to see the support we have locally.”
