Selston homes among those in Ashfield housing provider wants to make more energy-efficient

Energy-efficiency improvements are set to be made to several homes within the Ashfield area- including four in Selston – that are run by a housing provider.

East Midlands Homes (EMH), based in Leicestershire, has submitted planning applications to Ashfield Council to carry out the work at a number of addresses.

They are for the installation of external wall insulation to all facades of the buildings, plus rendered finishes to the properties.

EMH describes itself as ‘a community-focused housing and care provider, working to deliver safe, secure homes and strong neighbourhoods across the East Midlands’.

The aim of the proposals is to reduce heating bills for residents and to protect the properties from bad weather, as well as enhance the appearance of the buildings.

The four Selston addresses EMH hopes will benefit from the improvements are: 40 Langton Hollow, 36 Portland Road, 65 Crescent Road and 67 Crescent Road.

The council’s planning officers are currently considering the applications and hope to make a decision or recommendation on each in the coming weeks.
