New cash-and-carry shop and warehouse -- all the latest Mansfield plans
Mansfield could be set for a new cash-and-carry shop and warehouse if a planning application is given the go-ahead.
The application, submitted to Mansfield District Council, is for a change of use for premises at 7, Anglia Way, off Southwell Road West, which forms part of the Sherwood Oaks Business Park.
Planning papers say the unit, which is currently vacant, used to house a car bodywork company and, before then, Tyres 4 U Ltd, a tyre-fitting shop.
But it has now been bought by Claudiu Boroti, the 31-year-old boss of C.B. Market Ltd, a business based in Harrow, Greater London which specialises in retail.

Mr Boroti wants to switch the premises from general industrial, storage and distribution use to commercial, business and service use.
His plan is to create a cash-and-carry retail operation, serving trade customers and also members of the public.
It would offer bulk storage and display of packaged goods such as food, drinks, household items and cleaning products, for customers to browse and buy.
In a planning statement, Mr Boroti says: “This use supports economic diversification. It aligns with Mansfield Council’s objectives to promote sustainable reuse of existing buildings and encourage employment-generating activity.”

If it is given the green light, the store and warehouse would generate five full-time jobs and five part-time. It would be open from 9 am to 9 pm from Sundays to Fridays, and from 8 am to 9 pm on Saturdays.
The unit, which sits close to reputable scrap-metal dealer, Briggs Metals Ltd, spans 142 square metres of internal floorspace, with 22 parking spaces outside.
No changes are proposed to the building’s appearance, scale, layout or access. Deliveries of stock would be made by HGVs and vans via existing loading bays.
The council’s planning officers are currently considering the scheme and hope to make a decision or recommendation by their deadline date of Thursday, February 12.
Elsewhere, other planning applications received include a second attempt to build detached bungalows on land at the end of a cul-de-sac at Welwyn Avenue in Mansfield Woodhouse.
In 2023, a plan to construct three bungalows was rejected by the council, and also on appeal by a government inspector, because it was considered to be “over-development and would have an adverse impact on neighbouring properties” on nearby Marples Avenue.
Now a revised proposal has been submitted for only two “high-quality” bungalows, either side of an existing one called The Gables, which is owned by the applicants, plus a new, private drive. Planning papers stress the homes would not overlook or overshadow neighbours.
Other planning applications received by Mansfield Council include these:
