The project is part of a partnership between Ashfield District Council, social housing and care organisation EMH Group and Homes England and will also see new council houses being built in Sutton-in-Ashfield and Skeby, as well as Hucknall.

Coun Tom Hollis, portfolio holder for housing said: “It’s vital that we add to our housing stock in Ashfield so that we can continue to provide good quality affordable homes for our residents.

"That’s why we’ll be adding more than 100 new homes over the next few years.

“The variety of property types being developed at Sutton and Hucknall reflect the local demand.

"I’m extremely proud of this council’s work to bring these projects together and deliver for the people of Ashfield.”

Chris Jones, executive director of development at EMG Group, added: “We are delighted that through our strong partnership with Ashfield District Council we have been able to contribute towards meeting the housing aspirations of people in the area.
