Conservatives retain Mansfield's Oakham ward following by-election and overnight count

The Conservatives have retained a ward on Mansfield District Council following a by-election after the former councillor resigned his seat.

Lee Anderson stepped down as Oakham ward councillor recently, after being elected as MP for Ashfield.

Following an overnight count, Robert Philip Elliman (Conservative) has been elected with a turn-out of 42.1 per cent, and a total of 428 votes.

Kevin John Brown – Mansfield Independents – 104 votes;

Lauren Nichelle Kimberley – Independent – 69 votes;
