This community grant programme is designed to support local, community-led projects which are delivering positive outcomes for Kirkby residents.

Funding is available to not-for-profit organisations that demonstrate a clear social value and alignment with local priorities.

Eligible organisations must operate on a non-profit basis and deliver activities benefiting the community.

Organisations may apply for a grant of up to £4,000 to support their core project or activity.

If the project contains an event, a grant of up to £5,000 is available.

Coun Matthew Relf (Ash Ind), executive lead member for growth, regeneration and local planning at Ashfield Council, said: “Our community groups make a real difference to our residents, helping them when they need it most and providing valuable services.

“We are delighted to be able to launch this scheme in Kirkby and I would urge those who go above and beyond to support the community to apply.”

Sarah Kirk, chair of the Kirkby Safe and Happy Group, said: “I am incredibly proud to be chair of this group and to be part of shaping these key projects for our residents.

"This is a significant milestone for the Kirkby community and a testament to everyone who has worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life.

“As chair of this group, and as a Kirkby resident of 10 years, I feel privileged to help lead projects that directly benefit our community.

"The launch of these grants will allow local groups to develop and grow in ways we’ve only imagined.

“I can’t wait to see the impact we’ll make together.”
