At a meeting of Ashfield District Council cabinet, it was agreed that an additional £366,000 would be invested in a number of play areas including Healdswood, Nuncargate & Riley Recreation Grounds, West Park, Rowan Drive, Glen View and Titchfield Park in Hucknall.
This is in addition to the £1.5 million the council has already committed to green space improvements by March 2021.

Coun David Martin, cabinet member for streets, parks and town centres said “This year, more than ever, our parks and green spaces have been vital for residents to get out and enjoy the great outdoors.
"This additional funding, on top of the £1.5 million already committed, will see much needed improvements to some of the district’s smaller, neighbourhood play areas.
“We have so much planned for our parks and green spaces over the coming months, with so much already being completed, including new outdoor gym equipment at Jacksdale Recreation Ground, improvement works at Nabbs Lane playground and new play equipment at Annesley Recreation Ground.
