POLICE are urging dog walkers, horse riders and runners to take care on off-road tracks in Bilsthorpe.
The force received a report of makeshift traps left in Deerdale Lane this week.
The traps are wooden planks set with metal screws. They have been placed in the sand and covered with leaves.
Temporary Police Sergeant Matt Ward said: “This road is a track that leads off the A614 towards what is known as the Desert.
“We believe these traps could have been put in place to deter off-road bikes but the lane is also used by horse riders and dog walkers.
“We are asking everyone to take caution, as stepping on one of these wooden planks could cause considerable injury to you or your animals.”
There was a similar incident in the lane several years ago and the Force is working to trace down those responsible.
