Police vow to crack down on arson and anti-social behaviour in Derbyshire town

They were identified by townsfolk who took part in engagement sessions with the Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team.

The team visited locations around the town last week to speak to residents about the issues that mattered to them - while officers also talked to people via an online surgery.

Police Support Volunteer Natalia Witczak was also on hand during the events to interpret any concerns or priority ideas from the Polish community to officers.

Sergeant Mark Church said: “I would like to say a big thank you to all the members of the public who shared their thoughts with my team at one of our engagement events or by logging online to speak to me during our online surgery.

“The virtual surgery was new to me and I decided to host our first session to give those who were unable to attend, or didn’t want to venture out into the cold, the chance to have their say.”

As well as tackling anti-social behaviour and arson, police will also be working to identify shared housing accommodation over the next three months.
