Police seek Sutton robber

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Sutton last month.

A 43-year-old woman had her purse stolen by a man as she walked along the bridle path linking Priestsic Road with Stoneyford Road at around 4.30pm on 24th March.

Although there was only a small quantity of cash in the purse at the time, police are keen to find the suspect before he tries to commit a similar offence.

The suspect is described as a white man and aged between 20 and 25-years-old, around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall and of medium build.

He was wearing a grey baseball-style cap and a black hooded tracksuit top. Following the attack, the man rode towards Priestsic Road on a light coloured BMX bike.

Anybody with any information is urged to contact DC Tony Tonks from Ashfield North CID on 0300 300 9999 ext 804 4732 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
