Police searching for missing schoolboy Ciaran Sweeney have found the body of a teenage boy in Mansfield.
The body was discovered at 10.15am today (Tuesday) in Ratcher Hill quarry in Southwell Road.
Formal identification is yet to take place and forensic investigation work is now underway. Ciaran’s family have been informed of the developments and police will continue to support them.
A police spokesman said a formal identification and post-mortem still had to be performed and the appeal for information about Ciaran remained in place in the mean time.
A cordon will be in place at the quarry until tomorrow morning.
