Police investigate fatal car crash in Mansfield

Officers are investigating the single-vehicle collision involving a blue Ford Fiesta, which happened around 8pm on Sunday at Moorhaigh Lane on Pleasley Hill, Mansfield.

The road was closed at the junctions of Baxter Hill with Moorhaigh Lane,Water Lane with Sampsons Lane and Sampsons Lane with Penniment Lane.

The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information about the collision or the vehicle involved is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 793 of 22 March 2015.
