Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood policing teams carried out patrols during the fair between Thursday, 15th and Monday 19th May alongside Bolsover District Council’s CAN Rangers.

A number of searches were carried out and seven under 18s were found with alcohol, which was seized by police.

PCSO Chris Hart of the South Normanton and Pinxton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The fair was really popular this year, and it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves.

“It was particularly pleasing that that despite the large numbers we received no reports of anti-social or nuisance behaviour, and that was the main aim behind our proactive patrols and presence at the event.”

The parents of those young people found with alcohol will be receiving anti-social behaviour warning letters, and could face further action should they be caught with alcohol in public for a second time.
