Police called to incident at Mansfield school

Police have revealed they were called to an incident at a Mansfield school.

Officers said they attended 'reports of a fall-out between a group of students' at Samworth Church Academy on Sherwood Hall Road at around 12.30pm yesterday.

The incident was 'dealt with by the school', Nottinghamshire Police added.

Neighbourhood Inspector Nick Butler, of the force, said: "We have worked with the school and have spoken and provided advice to those involved.

"Our PCSOs have also been patrolling the area at key times.

"We work closely with all schools to prevent any disorder or anti-social behaviour.

"The force has recently re-introduced Schools and Early Intervention Officers to work in partnership with schools across the county on issues affecting young people, such as, violence, anti-social behaviour, cyber safety and drugs."
