SIX people have been arrested following a robbery in a Mansfield park last night (Saturday).
Two men, aged 19 and 21, a 20-year-old woman, two 17-year-old boys and a 16-year-old girl are in police custody on suspicion of robbery and are being interviewed by detectives today.
It follows an incident at near to the basketball court in Titchfield Park, off Nottingham Road, at around 10pm, when a 26-year-old man was set upon by a group of people.
A mobile phone and wallet were believed stolen in the attack.
He was taken to King’s Mill Hospital with extensive injuries to his face and remains there in a stable condition.
A section of the park was closed while police conducted forensic examination. The cordon was lifted and the park fully reopened at 10am today (Sunday 16 December 2012).
Despite the arrests police are appealing to anyone who saw the attack, was in the vicinity at that time, or has any information to call them on 101, quoting incident 921 of 15 December 2012, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
