Police and parents alerted after youngster approached by stranger on way home from Mansfield school
The Samworth Church Academy on Sherwood Hall Road, Mansfield sent a text to parents this morning (July 11) to warn them that a pupil had been approached by a stranger on the way home from school.
The text advised parents to reinforce the message of "stranger danger" at home, and reminded children to be vigilant.
The incident has been reported to Nottinghamshire Police, after a parent alerted the school, and other schools in the area have been notified.
A spokeswoman for the school said that they would be increasing staff presence around the school.
