Plea for witnesses after serious A60 crash left six in hospital

An investigation into the major incident on February 13, which left six people in in hospital and one in critical condition, is calling for anyone who saw the crash to come forward.

The collision happened on Mansfield Road between Ravenshead and the Seven Mile, also known as ‘devil’s elbow’ at around 10.05pm

Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the collision and potentially spoken to an officer but have not yet been contacted by the police to come forward with any information.

DS Ged Hazelwood from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This is a profoundly serious investigation and your evidence could be absolutely vital.

"Several occupants of the vehicles received serious injuries but thankfully for all involved, everyone is now in a stable condition.”

A 22-year-old woman was in a critical condition in hospital after the road traffic accident involving two vehicles, and firefighters had to cut open both cars to extricate passengers.

One suspect, a 23-year-old man was arrested.
