Plea to catch thugs who left Mansfield man for dead

A mother has issued a heartfelt plea to catch cruel thugs who left a Mansfield man "for dead."

Callum Monington-Tennant, of Littleworth, Mansfield, was found unconscious and with serious injuries to his head in Church Street, Mansfield.

The 23-year-old was found just before 1am, on Saturday, January 27, and was attacked while walking home after a night out.

Trina Monington-Tennant, 52, Callum's mum has said he has suffered a skull and facial fractures, a brain bleed and a blood clot.

She also said there is a chance he may have brain damage.

Callum who works at the Time Cafebar in Four Seasons has been called 'gentle' and Trina has said there are no marks on his hands.

She said: "He is not in a good way at all, he swallowed a lot of his own blood and has been vomiting it up.

"We are devastated, he is such a gentle bloke, he is not a lad that fights.

Callum is still in Queen's Medical Centre and is said to be in and out of consciousness.

He is also said to be having difficulty seeing out of his left eye and hearing out of his left ear.

A spokesman from Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was found with serious injuries in Church Street, Mansfield."Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area around this time."

Investigations are ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone with information.
