A pub in Mansfield could be bulldozed and houses and flats built in its place if plans are given approval.
The application has been submitted to knock down the William IV pub on Stockwell Gate and build six houses and a complex of eight flats.
The two-storey houses would have two bedrooms each, while a separate block would consist of the eight one-bedroom flats. Access to the site would be from Stockwell Gate, and each house would have two parking spaces with a single space for each flat.
The applicant insists there is no policy protection for pubs under the Mansfield Local Plan and other pubs remain close by, including the Wheatsheaf Inn and the Bold Forester.
A consultation into the plans will end on December 30.
