Plans for 800 homes at Thoresby
The pit, which closed a year ago, could also see a new school, business premises and a country park developed.
The proposals - which developers Harworth Estates claim will create at least 500 jobs - also include plans for a zip wire and sports pitches, but the colliery’s headstocks will be demolished.

The pit closed in June last year after more than 90 years of mining.
It was the last deep mine in Nottinghamshire with owners UK Coal were forced to bring an end to the industry because of mounting debts, caused by the global price of coal.
Hundreds of miners lost their jobs at Thoresby, along with Kellingley in North Yorkshire - another pit owned by UK Coal which was forced to close.
