The application from Avant homes is for the building of 71 dwellings, structural landscaping, open space provision and access roads on land west of Waterfield Way was considered for comment by Clipstone Parish Council on Wednesday.

At the meeting at Clipstone Village Hall, Councillor Karl Beresford said: “This came before us in the last review of the 100 house that were granted permission for Avant.

“They have made some changes where appropriate however one thing that wasn’t clear is that we need to have that Cavendish Way extended and adopted before they start building them I think.

“Otherwise it’s going to drive a lot of traffic through into the existing estate.”

The meeting heard that the Allotment society has had a meeting and the developer is not going to infringe on the allotment area.

The council voted to maintain its neutral stance on the application.

The proposed house types include a mix of styles and design including detached, semi-detached and terraced.

A mix of two-bed, three-bed and four-bed dwellings are proposed.

An unused section of Cavendish Way bounds the north edge of the site.

Clipstone Parish council has previously objected to the proposal.

In April the council said the roads in the new development appear to be too narrow and unsuitable in layout.

No bus stops had ben planned and the whole of the Cavendish Estate still only had one access route.
