Plan to put nursery at Ashfield district care home set to be refused

The Wren Hall nursing home on Nottingham Road in Selston originally wanted to use an existing dwelling on site as a nursery for the care home staff, however the plans have been extended to include space for the nursery to be used by the public.

The application seeks consent for a nursery to cater for up to thirty children and seven members of staff, opening between 07:00-18:00.

However, the ADC planning department have recommended that the application is refused as there is inadequate off-street parking provisions, and the report concludes that the proposal would lead to “inconsiderate, sporadic and opportunistic parking”, which could be dangerous and inconvenient to other drivers.

The proposed use would include 12 parking spaces, as current parking provision has been branded “wholly insufficient.”

ADC will meet on the 17 May to make a decision to grant or refuse permission.
