Pinxton man drove while disqualified over the legal alcohol limit and without insurance

A Pinxton man who admitted driving while disqualified, over the legal alcohol limit and without insurance, said he had made a stupid mistake.

Mark Harry Wheatley, of Beech Avenue, pleaded guilty when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The court heard he had drunk six or seven pints of lager when his brother asked him to drive his car from Mansfield to his home on 9th September.

He crashed the car into a verge on Kirkby Lane Kirkby and he was taken to hospital where he was found to have 119 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The legal limit is 80mg.

Wheatley, 53 was given an 18 month supervision order, disqualified from driving for 16 months and fined £200 with £85 costs and victim surcharge of £60.
