One ex-solider finds peace in taking pictures and was thrilled to capture rare storm clouds over Swanwick Avenue.

Peter Waby, 60, served in the army from 1974-1986 and has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder but feelers calm when taking pictures.

He is also a member of the Cloud Appreciation Society and was stunned when he saw the Mammatus cloud formation on Tuesday, December 8.

“I couldn’t believe the clouds were like that and I have never seen anything like it so I went home to get my camera then came back out.”
Mammatus clouds are most often associated with the anvil cloud and also severe thunderstorms and the hobby photographer said they were very clear and prominent which was unusual.
