YOUNG photographers across Mansfield and Ashfield have been battling it out to be crowned Chad’s latest Young Photographer of the Year.

The budding snappers have been submitting their pictures on what it means to be young in Mansfield and Ashfield.

This happy sunny snap, pictured above, was taken by Mansfield Woodhouse schoolgirl Charlotte Morley (15).

Charlotte, who has a passion for photography, said: In the photo are four of my friends.

“We went on a walk to the woods near my house on and I managed to get a lot of good photos.

“This is one of my favourites though. It was a great day out, just to relax and have fun whilst it was sunny.

“I love this photo because it shows that teenagers aren’t always smoking, drinking, putting graffiti on walls and causing problems.

“There are plenty of good young people out there. We like to just have a chilled day out.

“The colours in the picture are beautiful and reflect the happy mood we were all in.”

Chad has teamed up with Sutton’s The Vector Studio to offer the winner a 30 x 20 inch canvas print of their winning image.

The second placed entrant will pick up a 20 x 16 inch canvas, with the third placed finalist collecting a 16 x 12 image.

The contest, open to anyone aged 17 years-old and under.

Entrants can submit their images by emailing

All entries must be supplied in a JPG format and given your name. Multiple entries by the same person must also be numbered, eg: John Smith 1, John Smith 2 etc.

Details about what is happening in the picture, along with your name, address and contact details must also be supplied.

There is no limit to the amount of images an entrant may submit. The winners will then be decided by the Chad photographic team.
