Pets At Home fundraising for local animal charities

The teams at the Pets at Home Mansfield store are getting ready for their second national fundraising week of the year and are aiming to raise more money than ever before for Support Adoption For Pets, the charity it established and supports.

The fundraising drive, from Friday 14th to Friday 21st October, will once again see store teams busy running pet adoption workshops along with fun activities to raise awareness and funds for a variety of deserving animal charities.

Store Manager Andrew Thompson said: “Our nationwide fundraising weeks have become a permanent fixture in our calendar as they give us the chance to increase awareness of pet adoption and raise money for Support Adoption For Pets at the same time. We’ll be holding a number of activities for customers and there are some great prizes to be won, as well as our workshops where people can meet the pets looking for a second chance of happiness in a loving home.”

The workshops have been designed to increase awareness of pet adoption and knowledge of how to care for pets looking for a new home.

Raffle tickets will be on sale for £1 at all stores giving customers the chance to win some fantastic prizes including free pet food for a year, a Panasonic 32 inch LCD TV, an Apple iPod Shuffle, a free Groom Room session for their pet and Pets at Home gift vouchers.

Customers who buy Nestlé-Purina or Crown Pet Food products will be able to help simply by buying their dog or cat food from the store. Nestlé-Purina will be donating 50p from every 3kg bag of Beta and every 2kg bag of GoCat, and £1 from every 15kg bag of Beta and 10kg bag of GoCat to the fundraising drive.

Crown Pet Foods will be donating £1 from each bag of 1.5kg and above on James Wellbeloved dog food and cat food.

Store Manager Andrew Thompson added: “All of the money raised will be donated to local charities who are working so hard to find loving new homes for pets within the community”.
