WATCH: Cars 'forced' into oncoming traffic to avoid potholes in Sutton
Potholes are an ongoing issue in Mansfield and Ashfield and a Chad reader has sent us a video of a section of road in Sutton where cars are being ‘forced’ into oncoming traffic to avoid them.
Dylan James said: “We live in Sutton In Ashfield and we regularly use Beck Lane A617 to travel to and from work, however over the last two years a certain section of that road has been literally falling apart, like many parts across the country, but what is making this even worse is that cars are being forced into oncoming traffic to avoid it.
“It has been reported multiple times and have been told on numerous occasions that it has been repaired or that it is on the list, but it’s been on the list for over two years to be completed.
“Looking at Nottinghamshire County Council’s report pothole site, it has been reported that much in the last few years that you aren’t even able to make a new, more recent, report as there is just simply no room to drop the pin.

“Residents are growing increasingly frustrated as planning permission has been granted for an industrial complex next to that section of road, which will result in more HGVs and traffic to use this already busy and congested section of road.”
A Nottinghamshire County Council spokesperson said: “An inspection team will be assessing the road to decide on the most appropriate course of action.
“We will then provide an update on when the work will be scheduled. In the interim, we will make any repairs as required to make the road safe.”
