Teversal FC staff Nick Briggs, Sally Wilkinson and Kev Newton donated dozens of kits the club was no longer using to the Spring of Life Association Gambia (SOLAG) – to help with its Onside Soccer Gambia programme.

The project allows children to be involved in building the community, through educating and empowering young people through sports.

The kit donation will see young people in the Gambia having access to decent football gear for free.

Mr Newton added: “You hear of this type of scheme, but rarely do you see the benefits.

"It makes us proud to think our own community spirit not only benefits us locally, but through football this has given us and other clubs the opportunity to help the wider football community.

"We hope we can be of assistance again in the future.”
