Team effort to transform Ashfield Fire Station for Remembrance Day
A striking Remembrance Day display has taken proud of place at Ashfield Fire Station thanks to a community team effort.
For a third year running, colleagues, volunteers and community partners have transformed the fire station in Sutton Road, creating a space for reflection and remembrance.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The display is a result of the fantastic collaboration between Academy Transformation Trust Further Education College, Together in Ashfield CIC, and Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service.
"Over the past two years, learners from ATTFE College have handcrafted more than 1,000 Tommy silhouettes and countless poppies, with them now being displayed across the county, including at every one of our fire stations in Nottinghamshire.
“A huge thank you to everyone involved in creating such a fitting tribute.”
