Lisa McLernon wanted to keep fit during lockdown and decided to take a shot at the Couchto5k programme.
As her stamina improved, she saw an opportunity to raise money in aid of NHS heroes on the frontline and began training for a 5k charity run in nearby Brierley Park, Huthwaite.

Lisa, who is originally from Derby but has lived in Sutton for the past five years, said: “The page is now closed and I am absolutely thrilled that I managed to reach my target of £500, especially as people are struggling in these difficult tmes.
“The final total is £505 plus £108.75 gift aid- that’s just over £200 per charity.
“The funds will be split between Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity, Chesterfield Royal Hospital Charity and the Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity.”
