Sutton shopping centre team nominated for national award

Idlewells Shopping Centre in Sutton-in-Ashfield has been named as a finalist in the social impact category at this year’s Property Awards.

The annual ceremony is hosted by Property Week and this year marks the 25th year of the awards which aim to celebrate excellence within commercial properties across the country.

The team at Idlewells has focused on social impact and engagement over the last 12 months and the team is delighted to be shortlisted in recognition of its efforts.

Chloe O’Donnell, centre manager, said: “Our submission was focused around our ‘one great day’ fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital and our work with Alan Hupton – a local resident who has been fundraising in the town for 48 years and won last year’s East Midlands Pride of Britain Award.”

Idlewells regularly hosts Alan in the centre to assist with his selfless efforts with staff helping him cash up and retailers getting behind his remarkable work.

For Chloe, being shortlisted for this year’s awards is testament to the team’s collective efforts.She continued: “Supporting and changing communities is a core part of our ethos at Idlewells

“Our team, its partners and retailers really buy into our community engagement initiatives and support our fundraising efforts 100 per cent,

“I’m thrilled for everyone involved with the centre to see our name in the final and we have everything crossed for the ceremony on April 21.”
