Sutton school staff helping to protect NHS workers

Staff at Quarrydale Academy in Sutton have decided to use their resources to make their own masks and visors, to help protect frontline staff.

Proud parents contacted us to let us know about the generosity of the school, so we contacted them to find out more.

They have spent the past week making PPE items which were delivered to King’s Mill Hospital, along with goggles donated by the school.

The school has stayed open for key worker children who have also been making use of their time.

They made postcards which were delivered to nearby houses, which contained contact details for anyone feeling vulnerable and needing help.

A spokesperson for the school said: “We just felt it was important to help where we could.

“Everyone is really coming together during these difficult times so we wanted to do our part.”
