Sutton care home is 'good' in all areas after inspection by Government watchdog
A Sutton care home has been rated ‘good’ in all areas following its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Stoneyford Care Home, on Stoneyford Road, part of Serene Care, is a residential home providing support to people over the age of 18 including those living with dementia

At the time of the assessment, the service was supporting 25 people with their personal care needs.
CQC inspectors assessed the home in the categories of safe, effective, caring, responsive well-led and was rated ‘good’ in them all, leading to the ‘good’ overall rating.
In their report, inspectors said: “Staff were recruited safely, and the provider was actively recruiting for staff at all levels to ensure people were supported as the capacity of the home increased.
"Staffing levels were safe for staff who provided care, but the provider acknowledged there were gaps in staffing for domestic and laundry staff.
"Most care plans contained detailed information about the needs and wishes of people and staff where knowledgeable about people’s needs and knew how to support them.
"However, we identified some gaps within care plans in relation to person centred information and guidance for mental capacity assessments.
"The provider took immediate action to ensure these were reviewed and planned training for staff to ensure they received further development in this area.
"Records reviewed showed people received their care in line with their care plan and medicines were managed and administered safely.
“People we spoke with living at the home told us they felt safe.
"Many people described the staff as ‘kind’ and ‘friendly’.
"Since our last assessment the home had employed a new manager and everyone we spoke with, confirmed they had met the manager and that regular residents’ meetings were taking place allowing them to give feedback and share ideas for improvement.
"People said staff were responsive to their requests for help and support and we observed staff supporting people in a person-centred way.”
One staff member said: “It’s the little things sometimes, I can see when someone is having an off-day and I know their favourite drink and their favourite mug, so I get them a drink and sit with them.
"It makes them smile when I do this.”
A Serene Care spokesperson said: “We as a team are happy with the rating at Stoneyford, it is a great reflection of the hard work the team and home manager have put in to ensure that the home is a safe, caring and respectful place for our residents to live.
“The whole team strive to go above and beyond to make the residents lives better in a positive environment, where the resident is treated as an individual.
"We will continue to strive in excellence to maintain the high standards to deliver the level of care the residents and families deserve.
"We would also like to acknowledge the support we have consistently received from the CQC, throughout this process, this support has been invaluable.”
