Selston care home celebrates Halloween with a mix of creativity and community spirit

A care home in Selston was mbracing the Halloween spirit last month – taking part in a range of fun and creative activities to mark the season.
Church Farm Care, which operates five homes across Nottinghamshire, saw its communities filled with activity over the recent Halloween weekend as they took part in a mix of engaging goings-on – from pumpkin carving to face painting.
Among those celebrating was Wren Hall in Selston where staff and residents welcomed children from its adjoining nursery – Little Wrens Nursery – for an afternoon of pumpkin picking and decorating.
The intergenerational session also saw everyone enjoy autumn crafts and chocolate apple decorating, providing a highlight for both young and old alike.

At Wren Hall and the other four homes in its group, the celebrations reflected Church Farm Care’s ongoing focus on creating meaningful, inclusive experiences that support wellbeing and connection.
Lucy Atkinson, co-founder and director of Church Farm Care, said: “Seasonal activities like these bring real joy to our homes.
"They give our family members the chance to express themselves and share laughter while making lasting memories, which is all part of creating an environment that truly feels like home.
"It was great to see so many of our communities involved and enjoying themselves.”
