The charity homes the animals, some of which arrived as they could no longer be cared for by their previous owner, at their shelter in Radcliffe-on-Trent.
Regardless of how they end up there, the animals are cared for until a new home can be found.
The RSPCA also offers advice to people who already own pets but may be struggling to cope with the cost of food or healthcare.
Here are all the cats and dogs currently being cared for at the centre that have not yet been matched up with the right owners. Could it be you?
More information can be found on the RSPCA website.

6. Leo
Leo is an affectionate, loving and playful Jack Russell/Collie cross. He is looking for an experienced owner who understands that Leo can’t be walked in dog populated areas and would find holidays and walks in busy areas stressful. Leo’s ideal new home would be with an owner who likes being home, has a good-sized garden and has the ability to walk in low populated areas. Photo: m

7. Sky
Sky is looking for an experienced owner, preferably in German Shepherds or guarding/reactive breeds. Sky’s new owner will need experience of training and managing large breed dogs using positive reinforcement. They should be prepared to continue with basic training as well as more specific training for problem behaviour and be happy to adapt their lives around Sky’s needs. Sky is affectionate, playful and enjoys lots of attention. So, she will need an owner who is at home most of the time to ensure Sky has company, and her social needs are met. Photo: m

8. Daisy
One-year-old Daisy has an outgoing, very friendly nature. She is fussy and enjoys attention. Daisy is looking for a new home through no fault of her own. Although not used to children, her temperament suggests she should be ok. Photo: m
