Reopening weekend success for popular Mansfield restaurant

With lockdown measures easing, many of Mansfield’s businesses came out of hibernation this weekend, including a popular Italian restaurant which had a makeover during the closure.

Ciao Bella on Nottingham Road opened the doors to their new look restaurant this weekend after using lockdown to complete a facelift.

Despite the restaurant only opening five years ago, owner Tamer Abouelela decided to use the closure wisely and renovate the restaurant and lounge areas.

Tamer was excited to show his regulars the changes they had made.

He said: “We were looking forward to welcoming our customers, both old and new.

“We had worked hard while we were closed and had made sure everything was in place to keep our customers safe.

“Our staff were excited to get back and it went really well.”

The restaurant was fully booked all weekend and customers enjoyed their first meal out in three months.

Lee Beaver visited on Saturday for a few drinks with his friends, and described the atmosphere as ‘relaxed and well-organised.’

He said: “It was nice to be able to go out for a few drinks.

“Everything was relaxed and the staff seemed well-organised and like they really knew what they were doing.”

Tamer and his team had worked hard to ensure they were ready to keep everyone as safe as possible from coronavirus.

Eleanor Hunt, who attends college and works at the restaurant part time said: “Tam kept us all in the loop and made sure we knew exactly what we were doing.

“We were all just itching to get back to work.”
