Nottinghamshire Police hunt fraudster after he fails to attend court

A fraudster caught in possession of false identity documents, including a passport and bank card in someone else’s name, has been jailed in his absence.

Martin Fatunmbi, 47, is now wanted after failing to attend Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday, February 5.

He was found guilty in his absence of fraud by false representation and jailed for 12 months.

The court heard he had used the false identity documents with a view to obtaining a mobile phone contract with Vodafone.

Fatunmbi has links to Kent but police are keeping an open mind as to his whereabouts.

Detective Constable Nathan Wall, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Fraud by false representation and failing to appear in court are both very serious matters.

“We don’t know where Fatunmbi is, but we are determined to find him no matter where he thinks he can hide.

“I would urge anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact police as soon as possible.”

Anyone who believes they have seen him or know of his whereabouts is urged to call police on 101, quoting reference 31CF1450023.
