Youngster Isabella Marsh is hoping Chad readers will sponsor her to lose her lovely her locks, about 9/10 inches in length, to help the Little Princess Trust.

The charity provides real hair wigs for children and young people, up to the age of 24, to help boost their confidence and identity, after treatments like chemotherapy which can cause hair loss.

Isabella is backed by mum Kelly, little sister Emilia, who is 6, and dad Lee.

Kelly said: “My heart melts at Isabella wanting to do this challenge, it such a nice thing to do and it’s all her own doing, from being tiny all she has talked about is children losing their hair to cancer and wanting to help.

"I don’t know where it came from, whether she heard about it on TV or adults talking, my own mum, Margaret Page is a cancer survivor. We have always been open about cancer.

"She’s nagged me for ages about doing it, I told her the charity needed longer hair, she only had peach fuzz until she was about four! Now, she has got lovely long brown locks and she is going for it!

“Isabella did a presentation at school, all the kids asked if she would be bald after! We are going to cut to her shoulders, so she’ll still have a good amount left. Her sister Emilia has beautiful long, red hair, she doesn’t want hers cutting! She is happy to support her big sister, and dad Lee and myself, are so proud of Isabella and the school have been so supportive, especially Miss Carmichael.”

Isabella set herself a sponsorship target of £200 – she has already smashed that by asking friends and family, and has already raised £330.

Kelly, who works as a Cruise Specialist added: “There are eight weeks to the ‘big chop,’ we are hoping Chad readers will get involved!”
